Mine Your Own Business
I have been hired to create visual identity for New Bera Media, an outfit concentrating on producing cuting edge documentaries. Their latest is a film unearthing (see what i did there) the misguided activities of environmentalists. This documentary explores how these often middle class do-gooders have been ruining the lives of those less better off than themselves by opposing the openings of mines around the world and thus keeping the locals penniless and out of work. Of course it goes far beyond that... look out for the film and make up your own mind.
This is the initial idea i've come up with, which will be used for posters, dvd covers, press etc.

Hello darlings, lovely poster! Very witty slogan, Logan! But isn´t something a bit mixed up here? I used to think that the middle- and upper-classes OPENED mines in order to usurp the locals, who never got many pennies for working there... Rätta mig om jag har fel! Lots of love, Barbro
Well, i think that is still true. The upper classes are still exploiting the working class. Not with mining but with farming. Now the mines are closed and the very few jobs are on the farmland. Because everyone needs to work, the bosses exploit them. It is huge foreign corporations who now want to re-open the the mines. These mines will offer the working class MORE money and no-one will want to continue being exploited on the farms. That is why the upper class is opposed to them.
However the environmentalists are foreigners who whilst sitting in their comfy homes, seem to think the environment is the most important thing and are blind to the plight of the local community who are desperate for jobs.
These days if you are a big corporation it is automatically presumed you are exploitative, mean and have no regard for the environment, which is true with some but not all. These corporations have been given strict ecological guidelines which they not only promise to uphold but also surpass, helping with new homes etc.
The environmentalists in these cases are only against progress and development.
The environmentalists, along with their best friends the peace and justice activists and the fair labour activists are some of most ignorant people I have ever met. It's just sad how these (upper-)middle class people think they are saving the world, while they actually have very little understanding of what the heck is happening around them or why is it happening. At least if they would take some econ and international relations courses they would not embarass themselves anymore.
