Mum & Dad's Virgin Visit

After tipping off the Mayor of Bucharest, he jumped into his limo and ordered an immediate tidy up of the city for the arrival of two very important international jetsetters, yes, my Mum and Dad were coming for the weekend!

It was great to see them and it meant I got a chance to do the touristy things I haven't got round to doing whilst actually living here. We had a tour round the Peoples Palace, the second biggest building in the world, which is as gob-smackingly over the top inside as it is outside. Herastrau park got a visit, as did Lipscani, the old centre of town and the Peasant Museum. As that pretty much exhausts the tourist destinations of Romania's capital, we ended up checking out the brand new Ikea, bought some essentials for the house, and saw how the native's took to Swedish meatballs and lingonberry jam!

Come back soon!
