James Lavelle at Kristal

James and Mat were in town from London, as James was playing at Kristal and it was Mat's birthday weekend, so he came along for the ride. We met up at the hotel, then rushed to Kristal just in time for James to take over on the decks. It was easter weekend here, and as suspected the club was only half full. James still got the place rockin though. When Kristal finished I took them out to the after-hours where I left them in the capable hands of Pagal, before slipping off home for bed. Hope you had a great birthday weekend Mat... sure looks like it :)

Cat Bath

Typical! Put a picture of a cute cat on the internet and look what happens... loads of comments! Well, here's a couple more of the stunned wee thing after enduring his/her first bath, and before a good ear cleaning. A proper little punk, still haven't decided on a name.

Rokolectiv 2008

Saturday night at Rokolectiv... Mongolian Jetset dialed into the other side, adorned in full costumery, trapped under single beams of light. There were only three, instead of five but they still overwhelmed the audience on the most part, or maybe the venue wasn't sympathetic to their sound. They were a bit Oompa Loompa, a bit Monkey Magic, and fully wizard.

HAULES BAULES 004 - April Mix

Another month, another mix. As we move into April we find ourselves jumping between days of sunshine and days of rain. Well, this mix does something similar, sonically speaking. The first half reminds us of what's to come, with it's uplifiting summer tinged tunes, before dropping into a more melancholy mood for the latter half, allowing us to reflect on what has gone before. It's almost poetic. It's most definitely cosmic! Enjoy!

Here's a new TVC from Ogilvy Romania, starring a very promising up and coming actor...ME!

Can you believe it, 3am in the morning and I can't sleep because i'm being attacked by the first mosquitos of the year. And to think it's snowing in the UK.

A couple of coinciding extreme weather conditions... makes you think... global warming... something I've been thinking about a lot recently... as it happens :)

Now it's time to get extreme myself. Found a bottle of OFF! in the kitchen cupboard, a left over from last summer. Gonna spice it up with some extra ****! and really give to them. Goodnight.

Amatorul

Here's a dark and extremely funny short Romanian movie called The Amateur, directed by Marian Crisan. I first saw this at the Transylvanian Film Festival in Cluj and now someone's put it on their blog. English subtitles, and well worth 15 minutes of your time.

Englishmen In Bucuresti

The media assault continues (hee hee). Tom Wilson and I will be featured in Glamour Magazine for their special music issue which is out later this month. Below are some photos from the shoot, taken at Embryo. Unfortunately when we arrived at the venue it looked more like a building site than a nightclub, as they are renovating it. But we managed to clear the dust from the bar upstairs and strike a few poses. Huge thanks to Bogdana for leading the initiative and sitting with us on a lazy sunday afternoon while we drank tea and interviewed each other in a very haphazard way.
